With Schools and Systems 2017-05-19T15:54:17+00:00

To advance our mission and vision, TransformEd partners with schools and systems, education organizations, and policymakers to provide support and guidance on issues related to MESH research, assessment, and practice.

TransformEd typically partners with schools and school systems over multiple years to support leadership teams that seek to advance MESH, while also helping to build those teams’ capacity to carry this work forward in future years.

Our Work Focuses On:

PRIORITIZING MESH Competencies

TransformEd will work with the school or system to:

build a shared understanding of the organization’s goals and culture;
conduct a needs assessment and an inventory of current MESH priorities and programs; and
• engage all relevant stakeholders in prioritizing a set of MESH competencies.

MEASURING MESH Competencies

TransformEd will work with the school or system and our panel of expert advisors to:

curate a set of valid and reliable formative measures of the MESH competencies prioritized by the school or system; and
• support the design and administration of a process for collecting MESH data.

FOSTERING MESH Knowledge & Practice

TransformEd will work with the school or system and our panel of expert advisors to:

  • develop and deliver tailored professional development sessions for teachers, administrators, and families; and
  • support the development of a communication strategy and accompanying materials for educators and other stakeholders.

INFORMING MESH Practice with Data

TransformEd will work with the school or system to:

  • analyze MESH data in the context of other benchmark data, as appropriate;
  • support educators in learning from and applying MESH data across all levels of the system; and
  • coach educators through data inquiry cycles that link formative MESH assessments to specific instructional practices.

EMBEDDING MESH into Systems & Cultures

In addition to the work described above, TransformEd will partner with the leadership team to identify ways to integrate MESH into the systems, structures, and culture of the school, district, CMO or state.

Some examples include:
• Supporting leaders in integrating MESH into the mission, vision, and strategic plan of the school system;
• Identifying opportunities to integrate MESH into curriculum & instruction, professional development, disciplinary systems, etc.; and
• Using MESH data to inform programmatic decisions (e.g., by assessing the effectiveness of specific programs on students’ MESH development)
