To advance our mission and vision, TransformEd partners with schools and systems, education organizations, and policymakers to provide support and guidance on issues related to MESH research, assessment, and practice.

TransformEd works to inform education policy by collaborating with districts, states, and intermediary organizations to synthesize research about MESH and identify approaches that will encourage schools to support students’ MESH development.

We work with federal, state, and local policymakers to implement the following recommendations:

  • Establish working groups, stakeholder meetings, and focused partnerships between state education agencies (SEAs) and local education agencies (LEAs) to gather input and develop plans for implementing MESH-related initiatives;
  • Leverage the flexibility of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) to pilot MESH measures statewide or with a group of innovative districts;
  • Adopt formative MESH assessments as a tool to identify and scale promising practices for developing students’ MESH; and
  • Use those formative assessments to target supports more effectively and equitably.
